PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS

Learn the music you always wanted to learn in a relaxed, music-minded atmosphere in the heart of North Toronto.  All of our music lessons are private (1 on 1) and are held in our newly renovated, spacious studios. There’s no registration fee for new students, and all levels and ages are welcome.  Snider School of Music has evolved from its inception in 1949 when Dave Snider opened his first music studio near Bathurst & Bloor. Now, we are proud to teach over 750 students a week and take pride in our dynamic and diverse teaching staff.  Browse through our teacher list and find one who’s right for you!!

Have you ever seen your favourite band, heard your favourite song or watched your favourite youtube video and thought to yourself: “I wish I could play that song.”  Passion for music and a little dedication is all you need.  With lessons geared to your musical taste and your learning style,  you will learn to play and ultimately master your favourite song soon.  Not sure about a long-term commitment?  No problem.  All of our lessons are packaged in sets of 5 with no registration fee.  Simply sign up for 1 set and reevaluate after that.  Hope to hear from you soon!

*1 hour lessons are double the price of 1/2 hour lessons

DESCRIPTION

Guitar is one of the best instruments to learn.  It is portable, relatively inexpensive and easy to learn.  Of course, it takes years to master, but after a couple of lessons, you will learn a few chords and be on your way to strum your favourite tune.   With the guidance of our excellent teachers, you will learn the proper techniques, rhythm training, note reading (if you want) and chording.  All lessons are completely geared towards what YOU want to learn.   If you're a beginner, our teachers have years of experience guiding you or your child towards playing the guitar.   Check out our teacher list below.

DESCRIPTION

Perhaps the most complete instrument,  the piano opens up a world of musical opportunities.  Have you ever thought to yourself: "I wish I stuck with the piano lessons my parents signed me up for years ago!"  It's never too late and rarely too early to start piano lessons for yourself or child.  Our teachers can teach you classical, jazz, pop, blues, theory, improvisation, rock and more.  Just want to learn some chords so you can sing along?  No problem!  All lessons are completely geared towards your goals.  With recitals, coffee house nights and music performances throughout the year, you'll always have motivation to practice.

DESCRIPTION

We all know that the drums are probably the coolest instrument around (next to the bass!), and we all know that everyone wants to sit behind the kit and bang away.  Now is your chance.  With private drum lessons at Snider Music, you will not only learn the proper technique, you will also learn everything you need to know about the drums.  Evan Ritchie is a master teacher, and we are lucky to have him.  He will guide you through rudiments (sticking patterns), rhythm training, note reading and ultimately a John Bonham drum solo (the great Led Zeppelin drummer)!  Worried about buying a full drum kit?  At the beginning, all you need are sticks and a surface (a pillow, a bucket, mattress or practice pad).  Check out Evan's schedule here.

DESCRIPTION

Strings at Snider Music are simply fun.  Laura Bates has the experience and expertise in classical, jazz, fiddle and rock violin.  She also teaches viola and beginners cello.  All of our lessons are completely geared towards what you want to learn.  With the guidance of Laura, you will not only learn how to play your instrument, you will also fall in love with your instrument and the music it can make.

Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba or Piano.  Jake Wilkinson can play it and teach it all.  Jake has been will us for over ten years and is an excellent teacher for both beginners and advanced students.  Need a few lessons to get ahead in school?  No problem.  After five or ten lessons, we can guarantee that you'll be steps ahead of your classmates and develop a love for music in the process.  Check out Jake's schedule here.
