ABOUT

Snider School of Music is a full service private music school located in North Toronto.  First started in 1949 by Dave & Art Snider, the business has been fully owned and operated by the Snider family since it’s inception.  In October of 2010, Warren Snider (Dave’s grandson) started Snider School of Music Inc.  Although music lessons were being operated by Dave Snider Music Centre previously, Warren formed a separate business to manage the growing student rate and focus 100% of his time on the lessons.  Today, we are proud to offer private 1-on-1 lessons in:

  • Guitar / Bass / Mandolin / Ukulele

  • Piano / Vocals

  • Saxophone / Clarinet / Flute

  • Trumpet / Trombone / Baritone

  • Drums

  • Theory / Harmony

  • Digital Music Production / Composition

  • VIOLIN / VIOLA / CELLO

We also offer various group classes including a drop-in group ukulele class and our unique Rock Band class.  Although the lesson department is the forefront of our operation, we take pride in our boutique-style music retail division. We stock over 50 acoustic & electric guitars, basses and amplifiers.  We specialize in starter acoustic guitars, but also carry a wide assortment of the great Canadian brands Seagull, Art & Lutherie and LaPatrie acoustic guitars. Another favourite of ours is the exceptionally valued Beaver Creek acoustic guitars.  You will also find a full assortment of music accessories spanning everything from guitar tuners to music stands.  Browse through out products page for more info

Not to be forgotten about is our music book department.  Although scaled back from the days of Dave Snider Music Centre, we still carry all the standard piano methods and take pride in our selection of pop and rock books.  Be sure to check out our teacher list and if you have the time, our video tutorial page is well worth the visit!
