Jordan’s extensive educational background includes a PhD (focusing on the various meter practices of world music traditions), an MA. (music composition), and a BFA (jazz performance). Additionally, Jordan has studied both classical composition and performance at the Royal Conservatory of Music (William Beauvias & Robert Hamilton). 

    jordanIn 2000-2001, Jordan attended the acclaimed Banff Arts Performance Centre where he recorded with the legendary saxophonist Joe Lovano (Jazz Grammys – Award Winner). Jordan has attended master classes with Gene Bertocini (Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show), Peter Leitch, Kenny Werner (author of Effortless Mastery) and Mark Whitfield (Verve Recording Artist). Jordan continues to study as he believes that an inquisitive mind should never cease to learn. 

    Jordan’s performance history has been an instrumental part of his musical education. He states, “Music performance at a professional level allows one to experience an unprecedented amount of travel.” Musical touring has taken Jordan to the Caribbean Islands, France, Portugal, Spain, Brazil, countless American States, and every major city in Canada. In his home province of Ontario, he has performed at the Art Gallery
of Ontario Jazz Series, the Du Maurier Jazz Festival, the TD Jazz Festival, the Oakville Jazz Festival, the Hamilton Jazz Festival, the Brampton Jazz Festival, the Beaches Jazz Festival, the Orillia Jazz Festival, the Mississauga Jazz Festival, and the University of Toronto Hart House Jazz Series.

    He has performed with musicians of diverse stylistic backgrounds including: Afro Nubians (Winner of the African Music Awards – Best Band), Fugitive (Canadian Reggae Awards – Best Reggae Band), Perry Ribero (Brazilian music legend),Terri Bryant (5th Dimension), Ben Vereen (Roots, Prince of Bel Aire), etc. In addition to playing with some of Toronto’s finest jazz musicians, Jordan co-led the latin jazz ensemble “Macondo” acknowledged by Geoff Chapman (Toronto Star) as, “one of the finest latin jazz ensembles in Canada.”
